Gather your friends for a unique creative experience! Join us in Bucharest to discover Kurinuki – the traditional Japanese technique of creating ceramic pieces!
Kurinuki (jap. to hollow out) is a traditional Japanese method of creating ceramics that celebrates the beauty of imperfection and the raw connection with the material. Unlike wheel-throwing, where the form is built by adding clay, Kurinuki is a sculptural process: you begin with a block of clay and “release” the object from within by carving and hollowing it out.
The result is a unique piece with a raw, organic texture that preserves the spontaneous mark of the maker. It is a meditative practice that teaches you to let go of symmetrical perfection and instead listen to the natural rhythm of the clay.
You will create two ceramic pieces through Kurinuki. We take care of everything else: the materials, the two professional firings and the glazing process.
Your functional art piece will be ready for pickup after the final firing.
To be determined with your group.
